Yasmin KumiFounder & CEO at Africa Foresight Group (AFG)
Yasmin Kumi founded Africa Foresight Group in 2015 to follow her passion of fostering local economic value creation in Africa. She is a Ghanaian/German senior business consultant with extensive working experience in the consumer goods and financial services sector, the research of family business groups and agriculture in African markets. AFG has finished more than 120 engagements across the continent in Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Ethiopia, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa and Tanzania since inception with a team of more than 100 consultants. Clients of AFG include leading private equity funds from the US and the UK, development finance institutions from Germany and within Africa as well as large family business groups from across the continent. In 2019, AFG also released a publication with Standard Chartered on “Investing in Nigeria’s New Economy”.
Yasmin serves as the CEO of Africa Foresight Group and has also been appointed Executive Director of the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance – which she led from September 2016 to September 2017. Prior to founding AFG, she worked at McKinsey & Company in Berlin for 5 years with a focus on African markets. She holds an MBA degree and an MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford. Yasmin was listed as one of Future of Ghana’s 30 Under 30 Pioneers in 2017 and is the first winner of the Authenticity Project. She also holds the “Harambe Gold Room Award”.
