Profile
Edi has over 30 years of financial services experience in private equity and debt markets. He has held various roles including: Director of Hambros Bank; Chief Executive of Hambro European Ventures; and led the 1998 buyout and formation of Duke Street Capital, followed by the formation of Duke Street Capital Debt Management in 2000. He co-founded Pension Insurance Corporation in 2006, a £50 billion insurer of defined benefit pension funds in the UK. He then co-founded Pension SuperFund, a UK defined benefit pension ‘superfund’, set up to protect the long term interests of pensioners.
In 2010 Edi co-founded Disruptive Capital, an investment firm with an impressive track record in sourcing and managing opportunistic opportunities. One of its investments, Atlantic SuperConnection, is a £3.3 billion infrastructure project to develop a 1,700 to 2,000 MW HVDC transatlantic cable to bring carbon-neutral hydro and geothermal power from Iceland to the UK.
In October 2021, as Managing Partner of Disruptive Capital Acquisition Company he successfully reopened the SPAC market with a £125m listing on Euronext Stock Exchange.
He is Co-Founder and Trustee of the Truell Conservation Foundation and also sits on the Smithsonian Council of Philatelists.
