Alexandra Nee
Partner & Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Private Equity & Principal Investing practice at McKinsey & Company


Alex is a Partner in our Washington DC office. 

She leads the Private Equity & Principal Investor practice Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) service line, globally; and is a leader in the Private Equity & Principal Investor, and Marketing & Sales practices at McKinsey. 

She serves Private Equity clients across a range of topics, with a primary focus on value creation and EBITDA growth for portfolio companies through improved DE&I, commercial strategy and commercial effectiveness.

She also co-leads McKinsey’s PE Pricing Accelerator, a proprietary solution, which provides pricing expertise for rapid EBITDA improvements, tailored for PE-backed portfolio companies.

Working across her PE clients’ deal cycle, Alex has worked at the Firm-, Fund-, and Portfolio Company-level to improve DE&I internal to PE firms, and across the Boards and Management teams of PE-backed Portfolio companies, respectively. In addition to this, Alex also has led multiple due diligences on a range of assets, as well as several commercial growth transformations for PE Portfolio companies.  Alex also co-leads McKinsey’s Women in Private Equity Global Forum, which gathers women investors on a range of topics quarterly.

Alex holds an A.B., magna cum laude, from Princeton University in Religion, and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.  Prior to McKinsey, she worked in the nonprofit and tech industries, and has served on Boards of several nonprofits in the mental health, and workforce and economic development space.
