Amr Ellabban

Lead Data Scientist at Hg

Amr is the Lead Data Scientist of the Hg Portfolio Team. He works closely with management teams with a focus on the application of Data Analytics and AI methodologies to drive value. Topics span long-term data enablement strategy, to more focused commercial projects (e.g. customer churn reduction), to broader operational support (building data infrastructure).

Amr joined Hg from the Boston Consulting Group where he worked in the Gamma Data Science team. During his time at BCG, Amr worked on analytics projects for clients across Europe in financial services, retail and industrial goods sectors. Prior to this he worked on retail and services projects in the OC&C Analytics team. Amr started his career as a Lead Data Scientist at VisualDNA (acquired by Nielsen).

He holds an MEng in Engineering Science and a DPhil in Computer Vision and Machine Learning from Magdalen College, University of Oxford.
