Susan Mac Cormac is a Corporate Partner in Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco Office. Suz focuses on advising both impact and mainstream growth-stage investors as well as innovative sustainable and renewable energy companies and social enterprises. Specifically, she advises on corporate form and governance, equity financings, secondaries, joint ventures and strategic transactions. She develops creative structures and instruments to ensure that investors and companies maximize their positive impact on shareholders and stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on mitigating climate change. Further, she counsels boards and management of private and public corporations on fiduciary duties and governance, with specific expertise on the intersection between fiduciary duties and environmental sustainability and ESG. In 2015, the Financial Times named Suz the Most Innovative North American Lawyer for her work championing legal innovation. She was also named California Attorney of the Year for 2012 and 2016, and has been recognized on several leadership lists, including the Most Influential Women in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Financial Times in 2018, and The Recorder’s list of Women Leaders in Tech Law in 2019.
