Carol JeppesenHead of US at UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)
Carol Jeppesen is the Head of US, Signatory Relations for the UN supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and is responsible for PRI’s largest institutional investor market. Carol has been influential in the growth of RI & ESG integration practices in the US market since she joined the PRI in 2015 to establish the organization’s first US office where she has overseen growth from approximately 200 to over 800 US signatories, representing 20% of PRI's global signatory base.
PRI is recognized as the leading global initiative for investors committed to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into investment decision making and stewardship activities and today represents over 4,000 signatories, globally, collectively managing over half of the world’s investable assets. Carol works closely with ESG teams, CIOs, Investment Boards and Trustees at many of the world’s largest and most influential investors to guide them on the development of their ESG programs.
Carol has more than 20 years of experience in financial services at firms including Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. She holds BS/ BA degrees in Finance and Economics from Boston University, an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and was an inaugural delegate of the Sustainability Leadership Forum at Yale University. She holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. In addition, Carol completed musical training at the Juilliard School in New York City where she lives with her husband and 2-year-old daughter.
