Elena Ranguelova
Head of IRM, North America at Investcorp


Elena is Head of Investcorp’s client business in North America. She is responsible for fundraising and client relationships across Private Equity, Real Estate, Credit and Absolute Return strategies. She leverages her years of investment experience as well as her commercial acumen to drive external engagement with the goal of ensuring that we provide our clients comprehensive access to the depth and breadth of Investcorp’s capabilities.

Elena joined Investcorp in 2013 and has held various leadership roles including Head of Credit and Equity Strategies and Portfolio Strategist. Previously, she was the Global Head of Credit and Event Driven Strategies at Pioneer Investments, responsible for hedge fund and private equity fund investments. She also served on the Board for Pioneer Alternative Investments NY. Prior to that, Elena was the North America Head of Fundamental Strategies for Goldman, Sachs & Co. She advised CIOs of the firm’s top institutional clients on portfolio and hedging solutions and made a significant push for shorting credit ahead of the 2008 GFC. Elena started her investment career as a credit strategist at Lehman Brothers.

Elena holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Mathematics from Wellesley College, MA. She taught courses on Financial Markets and Securities Analysis at Harvard University. Her articles on finance and public economics have been published in, among other journals, the American Economic Review.
