Jeff Behring

Managing Director & COO at Northwestern Mutual Capital

Jeff Behring joined Northwestern Mutual Capital in 2003 and helps manage its ~$60 billion private investment portfolio that spans asset classes from private credit to private equity.  He is a member of the NMC Investment Committee, leads a deal team sourcing and executing transactions, and oversees NMC’s finance/technology/operations.  He has invested in dozens of junior private credit and private equity transactions and holds several board observation positions associated with NMC’s investments.   Prior NMC, he started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining the predecessor to NationalOilwell Varco where he sourced and transacted acquisitions across North America and western Europe.

He received a B.B.A. degree from Loyola University New Orleans and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.  Behring has also received the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (C.F.A.).
