Jonathan R. Insull

Jonathan R. Insull is Lead Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of Angel Island Capital (“AIC”), the credit investing arm of Golden Gate Capital (“GGC”) in San Francisco, a leading, middle market PE firm. AIC is a $4.0B alternative credit manager born inside GGC with a long history of investing in software/tech, business services, and industrials.

Prior to joining AIC in 2022, Mr. Insull was with Crescent Capital Group, a $30+Bn alternative asset manager focused on high yield corporate credit in the US and Europe. At Crescent, he served in a variety of investment roles across the platform, including as a portfolio manager, President of Crescent's BDC, and as a member of many of the firm's investment and risk management committees. He previously worked at The Chase Manhattan Bank where he gained significant experience in restructurings and workouts.

Mr. Insull received his MBA in Finance with Distinction from New York University and earned a BA summa cum laude from Hobart College where he studied Economics and Mathematics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
