Doug Cruikshank is Head of Fund Financing and Hark Capital at Aberdeen Standard Investments. Mr. Cruikshank is also a member of the U.S. Regional Investment Committee. He has been with Hark Capital since co-founding it in 2012. Hark Capital provides non-dilutive loans to the portfolio companies of sponsors in situations that would typically require equity. The loans are based on the sponsor’s NAV, not the credit profile of the individual portfolio company. Mr. Cruikshank is responsible for leading the day to day activities of Hark Capital.
Prior to joining Enhanced Capital, which incubated Hark Capital prior to selling it to Aberdeen Standard in May 2018, Mr. Cruikshank was a Managing Director at Barclays and Lehman Brothers covering financial sponsor clients. Prior to that, he worked at Credit Suisse and JP Morgan doing leveraged finance, bank lending and private placements. Before earning his MBA, Mr. Cruikshank was a middle market loan officer at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. after successfully completing its 9-month credit training program. Mr. Cruikshank received a B.A. from Princeton University and a M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
