David GolobCIO at Francisco Partners
David Golob is the chief investment officer of Francisco Partners, a global private equity firm focused exclusively on investments in the information technology sector. Since its launch in 1999, FP has raised approximately $24 billion in capital and invested in or acquired more than 200 technology companies, making it one of the most active private investors in the information technology industry. The firm invests in businesses valued from $50mm to over $4 billion with a focus on identifying companies at inflection points.
Prior to joining FP in 2001, Golob worked at Tiger Management, where he was co-head of the global technology group. Prior to Tiger, he worked as a growth equity investor focused on the software industry at General Atlantic Partners. Earlier in his career, Golob worked at McKinsey & Company and at Newport Systems (acquired by Cisco).
Golob graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College with an AB in chemistry. He received an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
