Sunil Dhaliwal is a General Partner at Amplify Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm dedicated to investing in companies developing machine intelligence, cloud infrastructure and data science technologies. He has over 20 years of experience as an investor in the private technology markets.
Since founding Amplify in 2012, Sunil has led investments in Fastly (NYSE: FSLY), Datadog (NASDAQ: DDOG), BlueData (acquired by HPE), and dozens of high-growth companies including Covariant, PicnicHealth, and Enlitic. He has served on numerous private and public company boards. Under his leadership, Amplify’s AUM has expanded from $40 million in 2012 to over $750 million in 2020.
Prior to Amplify, Sunil was a General Partner at Battery Ventures, where he invested in category-defining IT infrastructure companies including Chef Software (acquired by Progress), Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK), CipherTrust (acquired by Secure Computing), Netezza (NYSE: NZ, acquired by IBM) and @stake (acquired by Symantec). He has twice been named to the Forbes Midas List, which ranks the top 100 venture capitalists worldwide.
Before his work as a venture capital investor, Sunil was a member of the technology banking group at Alex. Brown & Sons, Inc. He graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Finance and International Business. Sunil resides in the Bay Area with his wife and three children.
