Addie Lerner is the Founder & Managing Partner of Avid Ventures. Avid is an early stage venture firm based in New York City making Series A and B investments into the next generation of legendary consumer internet, fintech, and software companies.
Previously Addie was a Principal at General Catalyst based in New York, where she made early through late stage venture investments across internet and software companies in New York, Europe and Israel. During her two and a half years at the firm, Addie helped deploy nearly $200 million of invested capital across eight companies: Monzo, Rapyd, Chief, Shift Technology, Logz.io, Remesh, Jobox, and CoEdition. She also helped with follow-on investments in Deliveroo, ClassPass, and Bustle.
Prior to that, Addie spent three years at General Atlantic as part of the Internet & Technology team based in New York. During her time at GA, Addie helped work on follow-on investments in Gilt Groupe and BuzzFeed, and assisted in Gilt’s sale to Hudson’s Bay Corporation. She also spent nine months on rotation in the firm’s London office in 2016 helping to cover GA’s sourcing and investments in Europe, the Middle East, and Israel.
Before GA, Addie spent two and a half years on Goldman Sachs’s Private Capital Investing team in the Special Situations Group, where she sourced, underwrote, and helped manage middle-market minority growth investments in technology, software, and healthcare companies.
Addie is deeply committed to supporting and promoting women in the NYC venture capital and technology community, and has taken an active leadership role in All Raise as co-head of the East Coast Marketing & Community Committee.
Addie earned an A.B. in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and a certificate in Near Eastern Studies and graduated with honors from Princeton University in 2011. She is originally from Newton, Massachusetts and remains a lifelong Red Sox fan.
