Gajan Rajanathan is a growth investor at Highland Europe, a technology focused growth stage venture capital firm with €1.1BN of capital under management. He focuses on €10-50M+ expansion stage investments across the software, internet and fintech verticals and is excited about backing driven European entrepreneurs with global ambitions. Highland Europe is based in London and Geneva, and has its origins from Highland Capital Partners in the US (with offices in Boston, Palo Alto and Shanghai and a 30 year operating history). Highland Europe’s current portfolio includes GetYourGuide, Nexthink, Brandwatch, Matchesfashion, WeTransfer and MalwareBytes. He currently serves on the boards of Spotinst, Bitmovin, Adjust and Incopro.
Gajan was previously responsible for founding and growing the European operations of Qatalyst Partners, a Silicon Valley based technology M&A advisory firm. He has over 10 years of experience working with founders and management teams in Europe and the U.S. on realizing strategic outcomes. He has advised on $15Bn+ of announced transactions including SkyScanner’s sale to Ctrip (£1.43BN), Autonomy’s sale to HP ($11.7BN), Alcatel-Lucent’s sale of Genesys to Permira/TCV ($1.5BN), Withings’ sale to Nokia, Cúram software's sale to IBM and Swiftkey’s sale to Microsoft amongst others.
Prior to Qatalyst, Gajan worked in Credit Suisse’s M&A group in New York. Gajan holds an S.B. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
