The new frontier: Aging and health

An increasing older population is characteristic of many countries in Europe and around the world. The strain put on healthcare and social support systems by this trend has lent an increasing urgency to research into age-related diseases, such as dementia, as well as tools and systems to support healthy aging processes. Healthy aging involves proactive prevention and treatments developed with new understanding of how and why health declines over time.
