Sabine Müller
Full Professor for Biochemistry at University of Greifswald

Sabine Müller studied Chemistry at the Humboldt University in Berlin (Germany), completing her PhD in the field of nucleic acid chemistry in 1994. Thereafter, she spent one and a half years as a postdoc with Michael J. Gait at the MRC in Cambridge (UK) working on the synthesis and characterisation of ribozymes. Back to Germany, she took up a group leader position at Humboldt University and started independent research focussed on the development of ribozymes for RNA repair by rational design. In 2003, she finished her Habilitation and moved to the University of Bochum where she was a Professor of Bioorganic Chemistry until 2006. Since 2006 she has been working at Greifswald University, where she holds the chair of Bioorganic Chemistry. Her research interests include the synthesis of natural and modified oligonucleotides, the development of aptamers and ribozymes by rational design and selection in vitro, as well as RNA structure-function relations.
