Key Topics Highlights at our TIDES Events

Below are some of our key topics that are covered within our conference programs at the TIDES meetings. Click on each below to view sessions and speakers delivering content across the entire event series.

Oligonucleotide

The term “oligonucleotide” or “oligo” (sometimes also referred to as Nucleic Acid) refers to a synthetic laboratory-made DNA or RNA strand. Oligonucleotides are used in biochemistry, biology, molecular diagnostics, genomics, and other molecular biology experiments.

Peptide

A peptide is any compound composed of amino acids with the chemical structure of an amide between a carboxyl group of one amino acid and an amino group of another amino acid.

mRNA

Messenger RNA (mRNA) is a large family of RNA molecules that convey genetic information from DNA to the ribosome, where they specify the amino acid sequence of the protein products of gene expression.

A new class of therapeutics based on mRNA called mRNA therapeutics is currently being explored by a number of companies.

CRISPR

CRISPR  (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) is a family of DNA sequences found within the genomes of prokaryotic organisms such as bacteria and archaea.

Drug Delivery

Drug delivery (sometimes referred to as drug carrier) refers to approaches, formulations, technologies, and systems for transporting a pharmaceutical compound in the body as needed to safely achieve its desired therapeutic effect.

Drug Discovery

Drug discovery is the process by which new candidate medications are discovered. Historically, drugs were discovered through identifying the active ingredient from traditional remedies or by serendipitous discovery.

CMC Manufacturing

Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls. These activities are known as CMC. All stages of the drug development life cycle, after drug discovery involve CMC. During preclinical drug development, the proper analytical methods are validated to monitor the product.
