Conan Wang, PhDSenior Research Officer, Institute for Molecular Bioscience at University of Queensland
Profile
Dr Conan Wang is an ARC Future Fellow. He is located at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB), UQ, and withing the ARC CoE for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science. He obtained his PhD on characterisation of circular peptides (2009), and then was awarded a NHMRC Early Career Fellowship to study protein structure at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Griffith University Eskitis Institute. His current focus is on the design of cyclic peptides to inhibit protein-protein interactions, particularly for targets in immuno-oncology. He has authored over 90 publications on peptide design and delivery as well as on protein structure and function, which have received more than 4700 citations. His scientific achievements have been recognised by 28 national and international prizes and travel awards, including from Griffith University and the Australian Society for Medical Research, and presented at over 30 national and international conferences.
