Ilias Jimidar started his higher education at the Faculty of Medicine at the Anton de Kom Universiteit in Suriname. After obtaining his B-1 bachelor’s degree, he moved to Brussels-Belgium to study Pharmacy, where he graduated as a licensed Pharmacist (MSc) in 1991 at the 'Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)' and acquired a post graduate master’s degree in industrial pharmacy (VUB-1993). Ilias prepared his Ph.D. dissertation at the VUB and obtained his doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 1996. In the same year he joined Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Pharmaceutical Research and Development as a scientist. Currently, he is working as an Associate Director Analytical Integration at the Chemical Pharmaceutical Development and Supply division of J&J-R&D. Noticeable highlights of his profile: • Working in a pharmaceutical company like Janssen (J&J) for more than 26 years. • Has led the analytical CMC deliverables of many key medical therapeutics for needy patients with ErleadaTM, SpravatoTM and SirturoTM as most recent examples of products launched. • Currently working on the oligonucleotide development programs at JNJ. • Co-editor of a Textbook in Separation Science (CE methods in Pharmaceutical Analysis) and authored >40 scientific publications. • Licensed six sigma process excellence black belt. • Experience in leading Global Development teams with direct and indirect reports.
