Barbara Kilcoyne is the Sr. Consumer Insights Manager for New Platform Development at Sargento Foods Inc. In her role, Barbara helps Sargento better understand its consumers, uncovering consumer behaviors, needs and motivations across varied product lines and applying those findings to strategic initiatives and new product innovation. She also leads annual research planning and the budgeting process to align with corporate strategy.
Barbara’s expertise in understanding consumer trends and their implications for the dairy category – a multi-billion dollar industry – have directly contributed to several successful new product launches at Sargento the past 8 years.
Barbara cherishes her role as a coach for those at the beginning of their consumer insights careers. She helps her team build their analysis, critical thinking and storytelling skills to create the next generation of talent for the organization.
Before joining the Sargento Family in 2012, Barbara was a Senior Market Research Analyst at Kerry Ingredients & Flavours. While there, she led all market research activities for the Dairy & Culinary division of Kerry Americas, the company’s largest division. Her understanding of consumer insights and knowledge of the Food & Beverage Industry contributed to her success as the leader for cross functional Innovation teams across the Dairy & Culinary category platforms.
Barbara earned a bachelor’s degree from Lawrence University and a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Marquette University.
Barbara currently lives in Wisconsin with her fiancé and three daughters. She enjoys the outdoors, hiking, skiing, and camping. She loves to travel and has visited more than 30 states and 20 international destinations. Barbara is also a member of the Fresh Meals on Wheels Of Sheboygan County Board, volunteering her time serving fresh meals to neighbors in need and helping plan fundraiser events for the organization.
