Daron Sharps is a multimethod, multidisciplinary researcher of human behavior wherever it happens - online, as an individual, in groups and organizations. She currently leads Pinterest's research into inspiration - what inspiration really is, how it happens, and why it matters. Before joining Pinterest, Daron earned a PhD in organizational psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. Her academic research focuses on diversity and inclusion, judgment and decision-making, and power and status. Daron's findings have been featured in outlets like Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Behavioral Scientist, Forbes, The Guardian, and Harvard Business Review. Prior to grad school, Daron worked as a social sector consultant for the firm FSG, influencing major corporations and foundations to define their strategies, measure impact, and manage partnerships for social change. Daron also completed a year of national service through AmeriCorps. She graduated with a BS in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She believes in the scientific method, extensive travel, political organizing, and social innovation.
