Francesco ContiAssistant Professor at University of Bologna
Francesco Conti is a junior Assistant Professor of Electronics in the DEI department of the University of Bologna. He obtained his Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees in the University of Bologna in 2010, 2012 and 2016, respectively.
From 2016 to 2020, he held a research grant in the Energy-Efficient Embedded Systems Laboratory at the DEI department of University of Bologna and a position as postdoctoral researcher at the Integrated Systems Laboratory of ETH Zurich in the Digital Systems group led by Prof. Luca Benini.
His research focuses on the development of advanced deep learning based intelligence on top of ultra-low power, ultra-energy efficient programmable Systems-on-Chip -- from both the hardware and software perspective. He is one of the core contributors of the open-source PULP platform project. His research work has resulted so far in more than 40 publications in international conferences and journals, three Best Paper Awards at conferences (ASAP 2014, EVW 2014, ESWEEK 2018), an HiPEAC Technology Transfer Award (2018) and the IEEE TCAS-I Darlington Best Paper Award (2020).
