Janice Co
Former Chief Strategy Officer, Workplace Solutions Group at Prudential Financial


Janice is a strategist, marketer, artist,and transformational business leader.

Most recently she served as Chief Strategy Officer for Prudential’s Group Insurance and Retirement businesses. She is an active advocate and speaker on the topic of women’s financial preparedness and authored: Closing the Retirement Income Gender Gap, The Opportunity is Now. The paper shares insights about the five behaviors that get in the way of planning for retirement.

Janice has deep experience in the financial services industry, working as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for IFG Companies, Tower Group International and The Hartford, Small Business. Her unique ability to combine expertise in strategy and marketing enables financial services companies to find new pathways to customer centric growth. Her diverse background spans not only strategy and marketing but also includes branding, market research, innovation, business and competitive intelligence, finance, M&A, customer experience and management consulting. 

Prior to her work with financial services companies, she was a Principal in A.T. Kearney’s Enterprise Transformation practice where she helped companies tackle significant strategic and operational challenges. 

Outside of work, you can often find her throwing pots or firing the gigantic outdoor kilns at Canton . She serves as a coach and mentor for women to help them build confidence and take control of their financial and professional destinies. 

Janice serves on the board of Vault, a fintech company dedicated to helping employers lower student loan debt for their employees. She has been featured at conferences such as the Texas Conference for Women, WISER and the Economist and in publications, such as the Wall Street Journal. The Hartford Business Journal, Women in Business, recognized Janice for her leadership and work with small businesses. She received her undergraduate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MBA from the University of Chicago.
