Alex is the National M&A Tax leader and an International Tax partner at Grant Thornton LLP in Canada with over 25 years of experience specializing in providing services to multinational clients investing into and out of Canada and assisting companies acquiring and divesting of Canadian businesses.

Alex specializes in cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, structured financing, cash repatriation and in assisting foreign based multinationals in worldwide tax minimization strategies with a focus on Canadian and foreign private equity groups. Alex has worked with a variety of businesses including retail, automotive, media, mining, engineering, printing and software and technology industries. Alex has tutored the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Part II In-Depth sessions as well as lectured for the Masters of Tax program at the University of Waterloo and at the Canadian Tax Foundation’s Ontario Tax Conference.
