Nick Calla, RPH, is the Senior Vice President of Industry Relations for Orsini Specialty Pharmacy. He is responsible for developing relationships with the biopharma manufacturer community to provide access to their specialty products. Before Orsini, Nick was Vice President of Pharma Relations for Biomatrix Specialty Pharmacy, which acquired Cardinal Health Specialty Pharmacy in March 2019. Nick was also the Vice President of Industry Relations for Cardinal Health’s Specialty Pharmacy, a Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions division. He was responsible for developing contracts and programs with the pharmaceutical industry for their specialty product portfolios.
Nick was Vice President of Trade Relations for the Community Specialty Pharmacy Network. He was responsible for business development and maintaining relationships with manufacturers around the country regarding access to particular products and the clinical programs designed to support those products. Nick also performed the same duties for Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy for seven years, developing relationships with the manufacturing community on behalf of the specialty pharmacy.
Before Walgreens, Nick worked as Director of Clinical Programs and Network Administration for Eckerd Health Services. Mr. Calla was also President and General Manager of Oncology Pathways, a group purchasing organization founded by the UPMC Cancer Center and Medmark Specialty Pharmacy. Therefore, Mr. Calla has experience working with pharmaceutical manufacturing and retail pharmacy communities and has participated in several pharmacy and therapeutics committees.
Nick is a Board Member and on the executive committee for the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP). Nick is the past president of the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board. He received his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University. In addition, Nick has completed fellowship programs at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Southern California, and Harvard University.
