Matthew O'Regan

Matthew O’Regan is a barrister at St John’s Chambers in Bristol. He has extensive experience of all aspects of UK and EU competition law, State aid/subsidy control and economic regulation, including: competition disputes and litigation; merger control, antitrust and State aid/subsidy control investigations; and the application of competition law to a wide range of transactions, commercial agreements and business practices. Matthew is a co-editor of the Competition Law Journal (published by Edward Elgar) and of Garzaniti: Electronic Communications, Audiovisual Services and the Internet: EU Competition Law and Regulation (4th edition, 2020; published by Sweet & Maxwell), to which he contributed the chapter on merger control. He was educated at the Universities of Nottingham and Amsterdam, qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 2015.
