Brenda Locke was elected as Mayor of BC’s second largest city on October 15, 2022 with the promise to restore ethics, transparency and enhance public safety by hiring more firefighters and maintaining a viable police service in Surrey. A resident of Surrey for more than four decades, Mayor Locke’s record of public service has been extensive. She has served as a City Councillor, MLA and Minister of State for Mental Health & Addictions. Her 25 years of experience as an Executive Director of non-profit organizations has also been integral to advancing numerous high-profile issues by building excellent working relationships with government, non-profits and the business community.
