Global Head of Sales for Alerian and S-Network Global Indexes at Alerian

Robert Hughes is the Global Head of Sales for Alerian and S-Network Global Indexes. Hughes has over 25 years of experience in financial services and expertise in managing global licensing, client service, internal/external sales teams and strategic relationships. In his current role, Hughes is responsible for all facets of the Aerian business development and distribution strategy. This includes listening to asset managers’, insurance carriers’ and banks’ business needs, developing solutions and licensing indexes while ensuring best-in-class service and distribution support.

Previously, Hughes was the Global Head of Index and Advisor Solutions of Nasdaq, where he managed the global index licensing effort, ran the client services division, and oversaw the Dorsey Wright RIA distribution. Prior to Nasdaq, Hughes was the Director of Business Development at CapitalBridge where he was National Sales Manager. Hughes holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a Monogram winner for the university’s nationally-renowned football team, under the leadership of the legendary Lou Holtz.
