Profile

Joanna is an experienced professional in Human Resources Management, specializing in Training & Development, with a demonstrated history of working in the maritime industry. In her current position as Training Manager, she manages the training activities of Epsilon Hellas Crew Management and Training group, by leading the operations of training services, professional development programs, and business development projects.

She is also a lecturer/ module leader in a private Greek college, which collaborates with the University of Essex and the University of Canterbury Christ, in the School of Shipping, where she teaches Human Resources Management in Shipping, Risk Management and Research Methods. At the same time she is the Course Director of Certificate in Crew Management provided by Lloyd's Maritime Academy.

She is an avid learner and stays passionately curious, which explains her strong educational background with a Doctor of Philosophy candidacy (Ph.D.c) in Business Administration and Management, focused on Human Resources and Organisational Behavior – Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, a Diploma in Maritime Operations and Strategy and a Bachelor’s Degree in International and European Relations. She is also certified as an integrated marine auditor (ISM/ISPS/MLC) and a certified Trainer.

Joanna feels passionate about empowering women in leadership roles. She is a member of Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) and supports various organisations as a mentor (Women on Top, Job Pairs, 100Mentors).
