Profile

Julie Lithgow is recognised as a industry leader recognised for her integrity and pragmatism. She spent the last nine years leading the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Her career has included the regulatory, commercial and charities sectors, and including the leading of governmental regulatory project, with a strong track record leading teams. She advises various UK and international government maritime and shipping departments on education and outreach projects, including a national maritime outreach programme with schools.

She leads industry initiatives in the UK and Europe on governance and diversity. She was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Honours list in 2020 for her work on diversity within the maritime sector and was awarded the Meritorious Public Service Award from the United States Coastguard in 2020 for her work to support the AMVER programme.
