Dr. Fatma Kalbat
Director of Counselling and Well-being Department at Ministry of Education

Dr. Fatma Kalbat joined Ministry of Education in 2020. Dr. Fatma is currently the acting director of counselling and well-being department. Dr. Fatma is working on the development of the National Counselling and Well-being Framework that targets all citizens and residents of the UAE from early childhood, all students in government and private education, all the way to higher education and life-long learning. It is designed to meet the personal psychological, social, academic and professional needs, and help in developing wholistic thriving individuals while meeting the national visions and strategic goals (short- and long-term) and subsequently enhance the UAE global competitiveness.

Dr. Fatma is also currently working on developing the main enabler for the National Counselling and Well-being Framework which is the Virtual Counselling center (VCC). The VCC is an electronic portal for students, employers, employees, training providers, and lifelong learners. It allows students to go through on an electronic journey to determine their academic and professional options through the available resources and measures that enable them to discover their skills, strengths, and interests, and learn about various educational and career paths. It helps develop the student's academic and professional profile.
