Provide support to smart learning platforms and school libraries with a valuable collection of literature in partnership between the Ministry of Education and the Khalifa Empowerment Program “Aqdar”
The Ministry of Education is cooperating with Khalifa Empowerment Program (Aqdar), to publish the collection of literature on the Aqdar Writing Initiative of the Aqdar Program on the various smart learning platforms of the Ministry of Education, as well as its school libraries. The emerging initiative aims to provide a selection of novels, stories and literary works dealing with national issues,
This cooperation comes on the side-lines of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which is currently being held at the exhibition grounds in Abu Dhabi, in the framework of the two parties' keenness to consolidate the concepts of creativity and knowledge among students. This trend is consistent with the Aqdar Writing Initiative, which is one of the main initiatives launched by the program in support of creativity and excellence to prepare a knowledgeable generation that is capable of literature in a way that enhances the movement of culture, literature, arts and education in the UAE.
The two sides agreed to benefit from the outputs of the Reading Challenge initiative, which is implemented by the Ministry of Education to support the distinguished students, within the sixth round of the Aqdar Writing Initiative, implemented by the Khalifa Program in cooperation with Kitab Publishing House, with the aim of preparing creators in various literary, scientific and other fields, in a way that provides a group of distinguished books issued by the initiative's affiliates themselves, and to enhance creativity and innovation skills by developing the skills of reading and writing, which are the main entrance to build creative system, according to the program vision.
The areas of Aqdar writing initiative include: novel, short story, essay, children literature, and self-development.
In this context, the Khalifa Empowerment Program "Aqdar" concluded the "Aqdar Writing and Reading" initiative in its fifth round this year, with the participation of 100 creative writers from different emirates, and by issuance of 100 books that are the output of training of 100 participants, from different age groups, to develop their writing skills.
His Excellency Dr. Hamad Al Yahyai, Assistant Undersecretary, affirmed that the Ministry of Education appreciates the great role played by the Khalifa Empowerment Aqdar Program, in the field of launching programs and initiatives directed towards youth and young people, to open their perceptions and provide them with new skills, enhance their knowledge, and interest in refining young talents, and developing our students cognitively and put them on the wright path of creativity and innovation, as this is exactly what the Ministry of Education is keen to sustain, and to devote among students.
His Excellency said that this cooperation is in the interest of the students, as it achieves a set of future educational goals, and satisfies an important knowledge and literary aspect that is a basis for our students to acquire creativity skills in writing, noting that the Ministry was keen to invest and benefit from the Aqdar Writing initiative, which succeeded remarkably in Developing creative capabilities in writing for young people, by engaging in an integrated and comprehensive work system, developing their experiences and moving them to a more perfect stage in the ability to write creatively.
His Excellency stated that the vision of the wise leadership keen on developing future generations and making the UAE an oasis of culture and creativity is our priority, as we are keen to root and consolidate among it our students. He explained that this cooperation will contribute to creating an added value for our students by providing easily access creative books on learning platforms of the Ministry or through school libraries, using these treasures of knowledge in the service of the education process, and building creative knowledge generations that have ambition and passion for learning and the ability to serve their societal issues.
For his part, Counsellor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dabal, CEO of the Khalifa Empowerment Program, Aqdar, explained that one of the most important long-term strategies of the program is to build the skills and capabilities of young people and youth in the various fields of creative writing that draw inspiration from the Emirati personality, of which most important characteristics, came the work on literary development, indicating that this goal requires training these young people in various literary fields in a professional manner that enables them to be creative and present their personal vision regarding issues that concern them, and to create a sense of responsibility for creative writing and its impact on the society and interaction with it.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dabal stressed the need to pay attention to the literature of our children in line with the directives of the higher leadership to serve the general directives of the state, aimed at consolidating its international position in the areas of creativity and innovation.
For his part, Sultan Al Ketbi, Deputy General Coordinator of the Khalifa Empowerment Program, Aqdar, the general supervisor of the Aqdar pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, explained that the program is also in the stage of launching Aqdar Writing Application to be a platform that suits different target groups to facilitate access to content and literary to increase their sense, knowledge and enlightenment, and to enrich the local arena with literature and books, written by those who are under the banner of Aqdar Initiatives.
It is worth to note that Aqdar Writing Initiative was established to develop creative abilities of writing for young people and youth, through an integrated professional training system, based on qualifying participants to learn scientifically and practically the rules and principles of professional creative writing, by a group of experts and creators in each of these fields targeted by the program, in addition to support the relationship between these new creators and our creators to put the outcome of their long professional experiences in the hands of young creators and open horizons towards higher levels of creativity and innovation.
Holding training courses and workshops as part of the Aqdar Writing initiative is an opportunity that opens up horizons for our children on new paths that enable them to realize their dreams and implement them on real ground. This provides a great opportunity for active participation and the launch of creativity and skills that UAE is an incubating environment for them.
