Peter Northcott is COO and a Partner at Hereford Capital, a London-based private equity firm supporting distressed businesses with GBP 10M - GBP 100M in annual revenues. Before joining the firm in 2021, he had been supporting its operations as a senior advisor since 2017.

Peter has over thirty years’ experience in the financial services industry – the latter half in alternative funds.

He is an operational specialist and his other activities include several Non-Executive Directorships and consulting to emerging managers through Axzam Consulting and KB Associates. He has also been a COO at the alternatives managers Apollo Global Management, Mako Global Investors and Mulvaney Capital Management.

In these and other roles he has accrued diverse product experience including credit, macro, commodities, equities and systematic managed futures. Additionally, he has worked in operational due diligence for Caliburn Capital Partners, a fund of hedge funds, and has been a significant contributor to various guides to sound practice and due diligence questionnaires at AIMA as well as being a founding and continuing member of their Sound Practices Committee.

In the first half of his career, Peter worked in the investment banking industry in a variety of senior operational and change management roles at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and ANZ (in New Zealand).

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons) in Physics from the University of Birmingham, is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and is a Chartered Secretary.
