Paul Libretta is a financial services attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office. Mr. Libretta focuses his practice on structured finance, securitizations and asset-based lending transactions, as well as bank regulatory matters.
Mr. Libretta represents issuers, investors, borrowers, lenders, sellers, buyers, hedge funds, private credit funds and other financial institutions regarding various asset classes, including mortgages and mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), reverse mortgages and home equity lines of credit (HELOCs), as well as credit cards, consumer loans, marketplace loans, auto loans and student loans.
In addition, Mr. Libretta advises on banking, securities and consumer finance regulatory and compliance matters. He has experience with the International Banking Act, Bank Holding Company Act (BHC Act), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and New York state banking laws.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Libretta was an attorney at another international law firm in its New York office.
Previously, Mr. Libretta served as chief legal officer for a leading online private credit marketplace. He also served as the U.S. head of legal and compliance for an international commercial bank headquartered in Canada. Prior to that, Mr. Libretta was the general counsel for a consumer receivables investment firm and asset manager responsible for all legal matters in the company.
