Rakhee Vatsa is a Scientific Officer D (Radiopharmacist) at Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research, and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Tata Memorial Centre, Navi Mumbai, India. After completing her post-graduation (2011) in Nuclear Medicine, she started her career as a Junior demonstrator in the Department of Nuclear Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. The application of radiotracers inspired her for her doctoral research (2012-2016). From 2011-2021 she worked in various academic (junior, senior demonstrator) and research (research assistant and fellow) positions at PGIMER. These years have added to her the valuable knowledge for handling radioisotopes ( 99mTc, 13N, 18F, 68Ga, 177Lu, 188Re, 225Ac, and 90Y), radiolabeling and quality control procedures. She was actively involved in research and teaching programs taking lectures and practicals for postgraduate students (MSc and MD). Currently, she is part of the team establishing India’s most extensive standalone nuclear medicine facility with 41 isolation beds for high dose radioiodine therapy, radio-pharmacy, SPECT/CT, PET/CT, PET/MR and preclinical research laboratory.
