DAVID WOOD has a long-established, international reputation within the industry earned through holding high-level positions with major and independent operating companies in corporate, commercial, strategic and technical capacities. For the past twenty years, he has worked as an independent consultant and trainer with a large number of national and international oil and gas companies, governments and service companies in combined technical and commercial roles.
He has conducted detailed work on oil and gas fiscal designs, petroleum economics and financing structures, acquisitions and divestments, negotiations, portfolio modelling, project and operations management, earned value, schedule and duration, budgeting and strategic planning, liquefied natural gas, non conventional gas resources and enhanced recovery techniques.
His reputation is also underpinned by extensive publications in prestigious industry journals and books on a wide range of topical and technical issues. David served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Natural Gas Science & Engineering from 2014 to 2016 and remains an editorial advisor for that journal and others.
David gained his PhD from Imperial College, London and has worked continuously since then in the oil, gas and energy industries in various management roles including geoscientist, petroleum economist, strategist and negotiator. He has a continued enthusiasm for the industry and a desire to share the knowledge and experience he has gained over the past 40+ years.
