Joint Head of Bribery & Corruption at Serious Fraud Office

Matthew has almost thirty years’ worth of experience prosecuting serious and complex fraud; over twenty of which have been as a Senior Civil Servant. Currently, he is a Head of Division at the Serious Fraud Office where he is responsible for supervising investigations and prosecutions that span the entire breadth of the SFO’s casework.

Prior to joining the SFO in 2012, Matthew was the Deputy Head of Fraud at the Crown Prosecution Service for three years and has previously held similar positions at the Solicitor’s Office of HM Customs and Excise and, following the latter’s merger with the Inland Revenue in 2005, the Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office.
