Trial site organization Adaptive Research has teamed up with American Molecular Imaging, a physician-owned provider of specialized radiology interpretation services.

The agreement – financial terms of which were not disclosed – will enable drug firms and CROs that use Adaptive’s network to access AMI partner imaging services and team of 500 radiologists across the US.

This access will help “sponsors to select study sites with eligible patients for investigative trials, and to pursue answers to clinical questions with de-identified patient data in the US,” according to Adaptive.

CEO Deepak Behera said, “AMI is a key element of our strategy to improve access to clinical trials for patients in need of innovative therapies.

“Our collaboration will increase opportunities for domestic and global pharmaceutical and biotech companies to conduct clinical trials with improved efficiency, as well as improve the local research capabilities and contributions of our general practitioners.”

AIM’s founder Jaideep Sohi was similarly enthused about the deal, predicting that his firm’s access to radiologists experienced subspecialty radiologists would be of benefit.

Adaptive’s strategy is to democratize clinical trials by utilizing digital technologies and integrating community physicians and associated community networks into the clinical trial process.

The approach, Adaptive claims, will “enable life science companies to tap into a larger, undiluted, and diverse patient pool to accelerate drug, device development.”

Decentralization

The deal comes just a few weeks after Adaptive teamed up with Uberdoc, a direct-to-consumer digital healthcare platform.

The agreement – like the AMI deal – was designed to expand clinical trial access to the physicians and clinical trial sites in the Uberdoc network. In turn Adaptive will be able to offer clinical trial opportunities to the over 3,000 board-certified physicians and specialists in the network.

At the time Behera said, “Uberdoc’s mission to decentralize the healthcare treatment landscape perfectly synergizes with our goal to bring clinical trials to the broader community.”
