Monica BondSolicitor of the Senior Courts, International Loan Documentation Expert at IFF TrainingTrainer
Profile
Monica is a Category A practising Solicitor, Chartered Accountant and Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, with over 30 years’ experience in international banking transactions. She was in-house Counsel with S.G. Warburg & Co. (now part of UBS). She was subsequently Head of Forensic Services - West Region for KPMG and a partner with Grant Thornton. Monica takes a forensic approach to analysing clauses in banking documentation and she guides her delegates through the key legal concepts which underpin such clauses. She heads up a specialist City Law Firm, based in Canary Wharf, with clients throughout the world and she divides her professional time between major commercial litigation and commercial drafting. This litigation is frequently about contracts which have been badly drafted (by others!) This provides many insights into the importance of getting such documents drafted correctly from the outset and thereby avoiding costly mistakes. Monica’s multi-disciplinary expertise and qualifications enables her to cover - at an advanced level, but accessible to all - both the financial and legal aspects of the course with equal skill.
