Kathleen Snyder is Of Counsel in the Boston office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, where she is a member of the technology transactions practice and a leader of the firm’s digital health initiative. Her practice focuses on the intersection of healthcare and technology, providing clients with strategic actionable legal advice with regard to drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, data strategies, intellectual property, and regulatory interpretation.

With 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, Kathleen has an intrinsic understanding of the healthcare landscape as it applies to health information exchange and healthcare delivery, including managed care and value-based contracting. Her technology focused transactional practice, coupled with her regulatory experience, gives her a unique perspective to provide strategic legal advice to digital health clients as they grow.

Before joining the firm, Kathleen served as the Deputy General Counsel for IT at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) where she was a strategic advisor to leadership in developing innovative solutions to complex healthcare and technology challenges.

Her practice consisted of: drafting and negotiating large dollar technology contracts, including complex licensing, SaaS, hosting, system development, and data privacy/data management agreements; regulatory interpretation and compliance with state and federal healthcare laws and regulations, including HITECH, the 21 Century Cures Act, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and the Office of National Coordinator (ONC) regulations; and advising on intellectual property issues.

As part of her role at EOHHS, Kathleen served as counsel for the Massachusetts Health Information Exchange.

Previously in her career, Kathleen was a managed care attorney and former member of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Institutional Research Board in Boston, Massachusetts.
