Hieu Minh Ngo, also known as Hieu PC was born on October 8 1989 in Gia Lai, Vietnam. He is well known in the cybersecurity industry for his journey that involves both engaging in activities and making significant contributions, to internet security. Initially starting as a hacker involved in identity theft and cybercrime Ngo’s life took a direction after he was arrested and served a 13-year prison sentence in the United States for stealing and selling the data of more than 200 million Americans.
Upon completing his sentence and returning to Vietnam in 2020 Ngo shifted his focus towards improving cybersecurity practices and fighting against fraud. He joined the Vietnam’s National Cybersecurity Center (NCSC) as a cybersecurity expert. He launched the Anti Scam initiative called “Chongluadao” to protect internet users from scams. He is currently employed part-time at TRM Labs, serving as a Cyber Threat Investigator.
Ngo's transition from being a “black hat” hacker to an ethical "white hat" hacker showcases his significant personal growth and professional development. His accomplishments have been acknowledged by tech companies, like Apple and Verizon for his work in identifying and resolving security flaws, highlighting his contributions to cybersecurity. Additionally, Ngo's active involvement in community projects, public speaking engagements, and educational programs demonstrates his commitment to promoting safety awareness and fostering a digital sphere.
