Vichai Ariyanuntaka is a professor of law and currently serves as Advisor to the Thai Arbitration Institute (TAI), Office of the Judiciary. Having recently retired from a senior justice of the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court in Bangkok where he served in different judicial capacities for 14 years. Trained and educated in both Thai and UK, Vichai was called to both Thai and the English Bar (Gray’s Inn). During his time on the bench and now as an arbitrator, he has been privy to some of the most ‘high-profile’ cases dealing with conflict of laws and non-Thai law. He served as a pioneer in international commercial litigation and arbitration in Thailand. He also served as Secretary-General of the Asean Law Association where many developments and harmonization of law and administration of justice are achieved in this region.
