Profile

Our Asset Recovery and Fraud team has significant experience in advising domestic and international clients on enforcement, asset recovery, insolvency, financial and cyber-fraud and regulatory investigations. We have expertise in all forms of dispute resolution from smaller, local proceedings to high-value fast-track cases in Ireland’s dedicated Commercial Court and the largest, most complex, cross-border proceedings. We are skilled in bankruptcy, insolvency, international asset-tracing and multi-jurisdictional enforcement of judgments, and are committed to finding the most practical and commercial solutions for our clients.

Examples of the high profile fraud and asset recovery cases that our team have worked on recently include:

  • Acting for investors and fund service providers in litigation worth in excess of $1 billion arising out of the Bernard Madoff fraud
  • Acting for Danske Bank A/S and a receiver in injunctive proceedings which successfully traced assets through two international jurisdictions
  • Acting in an application for the enforcement and recognition of a foreign arbitral award of almost $280 million in the Commercial Court
  • Acting for BNY Mellon in the bankruptcy of Sir Anthony O’Reilly, including associated litigation in Ireland arising from his bankruptcy in the Bahamas
  • Advising counter parties in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy and UK administration
  • Acting for Irish and international financial institutions in the reversal of fraudulent asset transfers
  • Advising financial services clients in relation to fraud perpetrated from the use of cloned websites
