Needham Hurst is the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Acquisitions at Up&Up, a real estate fund sponsor focused on market-based strategies to expand access to attainable housing. He leads the firm’s investment platform, with a focus on scalable, no-subsidy approaches that create homeownership and rentership opportunities for households earning 60–100% of area median income.
Prior to Up&Up, Needham worked at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, where he focused on LIHTC preservation strategies, and at McKinsey & Company advising public and private sector clients. He holds graduate degrees from the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School.
Needham’s current work centers on infill density and small-lot subdivision strategies in pro-housing municipalities, and is actively developing infill duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and cottage court communities across several U.S. cities.
