Rob Hellman has over 42 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. He is the managing member of NFN LLC, a real estate consulting firm, and currently serves as Sr. Advisor for Pembrook Capital Management, a real estate debt fund manager focused primarily on affordable and workforce housing investments. He joined Pembrook in 2010 as head of asset management and served as Chief Operating Officer until 2024. Prior to joining Pembrook, Mr. Hellman led the real estate practice for DLA, LLC where, among his engagements, Mr. Hellman was retained as head of asset management for a real estate investor owning a $1.5 billion diversified portfolio in the U.S. Mr. Hellman began his real estate career at Lehman Brothers where, during his 16 year tenure, he focused on originating and marketing alternative investments, served as president, CEO and/or CFO for several public real estate funds investing in retail, multifamily and other commercial assets and was part of the firm’s real estate restructuring efforts. He has also held senior positions at Ackman- Ziff Real Estate Group, Newmark Capital Group and was Managing Principal of Riverstreet Realty Advisors. Mr. Hellman earned a B.A. in Government from Cornell University, a master’s degree in international business from Columbia University and a law degree from Fordham University. His affiliations include: Urban Land Institute (full member); Cornell Baker Program in Real Estate; lifetime member of the University Council of Cornell University; former board member of the New York chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and New Jersey Bar. He was an Visiting Lecturer of real estate finance at Cornell University and an adjunct professor at NYU’s Schack Real Estate Institute and New York Law School.
