Hired at the Bank of Italy in 1994 he has been working in the Banking and Financial Supervision Department since 2006. In 2019 he is appointed as Head of Financial Statements and Supervisory Reporting Division, and in 2021 as Head of International Regulation Division. Since 2023 he is Deputy Head of Regulation and Macroprudential Analysis Directorate with responsibilities in the fields of regulation, international cooperation, supervisory methodologies, micro and macroprudential analyses.

He has been member of several working groups (BCBS, EBA, ESRB, ECB) and is currently co-chair of the BCBS Capital and Leverage Ratio Group and chair of the ESRB Exploratory Group on Accounting Developments and Financial Stability.
