Profile
John A. Immaraju, Ph.D., Senior Consultant
I have over 35 years of experience in the agrochemical industry, and now recently retired from AMVAC Chemical Corporation as their Senior Director of Product Commercialization and International Product Development. In that role, I oversaw the development of new lead compounds which AMVAC had exclusively licensed from Washington State and University of Idaho for global development, as well as launching newly licensed compounds from global partners into the US and Canadian markets. I was project lead for designing, conducting and evaluating proof-of-concept trials (including GLP trials) to identify product strengths and weaknesses in the existing competitive landscape and to also work closely with specific country product development teams to estimate the commercialization potential among various crop segments for insecticides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators globally. I continue to consult for AMVAC for registration of new biologicals as well as older re-registration projects. I am also currently serving as a Senior Consultant for Fortune Biotech USA on new business development and product development projects as well.
I have worked extensively with global regulatory authorities including EPA (USA), PRD (Canada) EFSA/EC (Europe), APVMA (Australia) as well as interfaced with other international regulatory bodies in Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, Japan, Israel, and India. I worked closely with domestic, global regulatory teams and consultants to generate registration data and assemble regulatory dossiers for new product registrations. I am also the lead inventor listed on several US/Canada and international patents.
I have served on scientific organizations and have been invited to speak as well as moderate presentations at domestic and international conferences.
I am lead author of fourteen peer-reviewed journal articles on research relating to insecticide resistance, pest management, biopesticides and pesticide toxicology.
