Getting to Prague
Prague, situated in Central Europe, lies at the heart of the continent, within easy reach of major cities such as Vienna, Berlin, and Munich.
With efficient connections to these key European hubs, traveling to Prague is exceptionally convenient. Whether you begin your journey from a railway station, international airport, or choose to travel by car or bus, there are numerous ways to reach the city. Once you arrive, Prague offers a perfect balance of relaxation and discovery, along with practical options for getting around and making the most of your visit.
By Train
Prague boasts excellent connectivity to other Czech cities and major European capitals. Convenient train services connect the city to airports, making travel to and from Prague hassle-free.
If you’re visiting the city, consider arriving by train at Praha hlavní nádraží (Prague Main Station), which is centrally located and well connected to public transportation. From there, you can easily reach the historic city center by metro, tram, or bus, or opt for a taxi or rideshare service for the remainder of your journey.
International Train Travel
Prague Main Railway Station, known as Praha hlavní nádraží in Czech, serves as the Czech Republic’s primary hub for international rail travel. Located just outside the historic city center, the station connects Prague with major destinations across Central and Western Europe.
Long‑distance daytime services arrive here daily from cities such as Berlin and Hamburg (via EuroCity and InterCity trains), Vienna and Graz (via Railjet), Munich (via EuroCity), and Budapest (via EuroCity).
In addition, overnight sleeper trains link Prague with Western Europe. The European Sleeper operates direct night services to Prague, with intermediate stops. Please check the schedule for additional details.
National Train Travel
From major Czech cities such as Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, and Olomouc, frequent direct trains run to Praha hlavní nádraží and Praha‑Holešovice.
For schedules and ticketing, visitors are advised to consult České dráhy (Czech Railways) or other European rail providers.
By Plane
Via Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG)
Václav Havel Airport Prague is the country’s main international airport, serving flights from destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.

Airport to City Center:
Airport Express (AE) Bus
The Airport Express (AE) bus in Prague offers a direct, connection between Václav Havel Airport (Terminals 1 & 2) and the Main Railway Station (Hlavní nádraží). Travel time to the Main Railway Station is around 40 minutes, with services every 20–30 minutes. Change to Metro Line C to get to the Prague Congress Center.
Tickets cost CZK 100 = Roughly EUR 4.13 and can be purchased from the driver or at airport kiosks. Credit cards and contactless payment is acceptable. Visit Airport Express’ webiste for more information.
Bus & Metro
Prague's Public Transport offers transportation solutions including three metro lines (A, B and C), trams, and buses.
Metro & Bus:
Bus connections to metro lines A and B, operate outside both terminals. To get to Prague city center (Muzeum) we recommend taking the 59 trolleybus (Terminal 1/Terminal 2 – Veleslavín train station), getting off at stop Nádraží Veleslavín and changing to Metro Line A (Depo Hostivař) from there you can take the tram to the final stop Muzeum.

Taxi or Rideshare
Approximately 30–40 minutes to the City Center, depending on traffic. The trip typically costs between CZK 600-1,100 = Roughly EUR 25 and EUR 45. Taxis and Ubers are readily available at the airport, directly in front of both Terminal 1 & 2.
By Car
Prague is easily accessible by road from neighbouring countries, with major motorways connecting the city to Austria, Germany, and Slovakia.
Driving tips:
The city center has traffic‑restricted zones.
Speed limits are strictly enforced.
Paid parking zones operate throughout the city.
Hotels often provide or arrange parking check in advance.
For the Prague Congress Centre, on‑site and nearby parking options are available, though public transport is recommended during peak event times.
Moving around Prague
The Prague Congress Centre is well connected to the city via public transport and is located just outside the historic city center.
Walking
Prague is a highly walkable city, particularly in the historic districts. Cobblestone streets, river walks, and scenic viewpoints make exploring on foot enjoyable.
While the Prague Congress Centre itself is best accessed by metro, many hotels, restaurants, and attractions in central Prague are within comfortable walking distance of each other.
By Metro & Public Transport
Prague's public transport system is efficient, affordable, and user-friendly.
Prague Congress Centre, is in the wider city center at Metro C-Line Station - Vyšehrad, only two stations away from the center of Prague. The train journey from Prague Main Railway Station to Prague Congress Centre typically takes 5 minutes, with trains coming every 4 minutes. Take Metro Line C (Red Line) and get off at the Vyšehrad stop, which is just a 2-minute walk from the venue. Tickets can be purchased through the PID Lítačka mobile app, vending machines in stations, or with contactless payment.
Tickets are valid across metro, tram, and bus services. Key fares include 30 minutes for 39 CZK (approximately EUR 1.61), 90 minutes for 50 CZK (approximately EUR 2.07), 24 hours for 150 CZK (approximately EUR 6.20), and 72 hours for 350 CZK (approximately EUR 14.46). By Taxi or Rideshare
Taxis and rideshare services are widely available throughout Prague, offering a convenient door-to-door transportation option. It is advisable to avoid hailing a taxi from the street whenever possible. If you must do so, ensure that the vehicle is licensed. Look for a yellow light on the roof and the word "TAXI" displayed in black letters. Additionally, the company's name, license number, and fare details should be clearly visible on both front doors.
To facilitate communication, it is recommended to write your destination address on a piece of paper and present it to the driver.

Pre-booking is advisable during peak hours and major events. While payment is primarily accepted in cash, some taxis do take credit cards. If you opt for cashless payment, be prepared to present a valid identification document upon the driver's request.
