Dr. Aleš Štrancar is the Managing Director of BIA Separations, a Sartorius company, and one of the main inventors of the CIM Convective Interaction Media, a new generation of chromatographic support. He is the author or co-author of more than 60 scientific papers on separation and purification technologies; the co-author of five USA patents and their foreign equivalents in the field of biomolecule separations and purification; and the co-author of several book chapters dealing with novel chromatography technologies for biomolecule separation. He helped developed several industrial scale purification processes for companies including Octapharma, Vienna; Boehringer Ingelheim, Vienna; and Krka, Novo Mesto.
