Profile

Erika Marder is Head of Global Human Resources for R&D at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. In her current role, she is responsible for developing and implementing the organizations’ talent strategy with a focus on inclusion, diversity, employee and capability development and succession and leadership.


Ms. Marder has been with Takeda since November 2001, serving in a variety of human resources business partner roles within the commercial organization and across several corporate functions. Throughout her 21-year tenure with Takeda, she has held roles with increasing responsibility. In 2009, as part of the Global Talent Planning team, she established a comprehensive and scalable global talent and performance management process that has been implemented globally across all regions. In July 2013, Ms. Marder relocated to Tokyo, Japan, as Director of Talent Planning. Shortly thereafter, she was named Head of Global Talent Management. As Head of Global Talent Management, she formalized Takeda’s executive succession planning process, developed an Accelerator program for promising early career talent and co-led the development of Takeda’s Leadership Behaviors. In June 2016, Ms. Marder joined the Research & Development organization leading the Global Human Resources function. In this role she sits on the R&D Management Committee and has played an integral leadership role in the 2016 R&D transformation, the 2019 Takeda/Shire Integration, and accelerating the continued growth and evolution of the organization. She is currently based in Takeda’s Cambridge, MA office.


Prior to joining Takeda, Ms. Marder was Senior Manager of Human Resources at the Revere Group, a business process and technology consultancy. Prior to the Revere Group, she held various positions of increasing responsibility at Information Resources, Inc.
